Helpful Tips
</aside>
For the first soldering phase of the project you’re going to first solder everything to the PCB. This all of the components except for
- POTS
- Foot Switches
- Switches
- LED’s
- 1/4” jacks
- Power Jack
Here are some tips for soldering
- Solder things by category. Do a group of the same resistors at time, then a group of capacitors, then something else.
- Solder the red dipswitch before the 100uf 50v resistor (the big one) since this is such a tight fit.
- Fitting the parts in is the hardest part.
- Take off all the pots nuts and washers before trying to align soldering
- Make sure your resistors are facing the right way. Here is a helpful comment from Keith’s github page about the orientation of the diodes. I’m glad I saw this because I had them facing the wrong way!

Time to solder, mother fucker.
First things first, make sure you understand polarity aka positive and negative. Some of these parts have to be oriented the correct way, while others do not.
Parts that must be oriented the right way
- Voltage Regulator
- Any of the small chips/controllers
- Diodes
- LEDs
- 1/4” Jacks
